The Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (NIEEE), Abuja Chapter organized the February Webinar on National Identity : Harnassing Technology As a Strategic tool for National Security and Development. The host of the webinar, Chapter Chairman, Engr. Amalu Ikechukwu, MNSE, MNIEEE partner with the Nigerian Communication Commission and National Identical Management Commission to provide a virtual platform for members to contribute to the tropical issues presently in the country. Mr. Lanre Yusuf, Head, Software and Biometrics, National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), in his presentation said that over 100 million Nigerians had no official identity, hence the need for a strategy to enroll the backlog within the shortest time. NIEEE Abuja Chapter Monthly General meeting was held virtual through Zoom Platform. The Host of the meeting, Engr. Amalu Ikechukwu, MNSE, MNIEEE while welcoming the member , promise that this year, there will be both Courtesy Visit and Technical Visit. January, 2021 Monthly General Meeting

The January, 2021 Monthly General Meeting was held virtually through zoom platform and was hosted by the Chairman, Engr. Amalu Ikechukwu. Many of our members attended the meeting. Also there was Technical Presentation at the meeting presented by Engr. Adesoji Osoba, MNSE, MNIEEE on Electrical Installation Safety. The presenter highlighted some of the mistakes to avoid while installing any electrical components, he also emphasized that the Standard in the country on safety is limited and need harmonization.
